On the border of reality and fiction

This course will teach you the main shooting techniques suitable for HDR photography. It will also prepare you for the specific issues of HDR photography. With a better understanding of light and the subject you want to photograph, this course will teach you how to produce an image with maximum detail, both in the highlights and in the lowlights.

HDR, short for High Dynamic Range, is an image processing method that aims to reproduce a wide range of brightness in a photograph. It allows you to obtain more detailed images, with an extended tonal range, by combining several shots taken at different exposures. It should be noted that using the HDR technique can sometimes produce visually exaggerated or surreal results, depending on the artistic choices and adjustments made when processing the images. However, it is also possible to achieve more natural and subtle HDR images, by adjusting the blending and tone mapping parameters during the post-processing process.

With the help of Photomatix software, you learn the different possibilities of HDR image rendering, and over time will be able to develop your own “style”. With this course, you will push the limits of your camera to its maximum, and then some.
