The definition indicates the total amount of pixels in an image. When you buy a camera, it is the number of megapixels it has.

Resolution represents the amount of pixels or dots per inch.
Definition indicates the total number of pixels in an image. When you buy a camera, it is the number of megapixels it has. The higher the definition (higher number of megapixels) the larger you can print.
To know the maximum print size of your photos, there is a very simple calculation to do. For example, if you want to print a 12''x18'' photo at 300 dpi, you must do (12x300) x (18x300) = 19'440'000 so you must have a camera with at least 20 megapixels of definition to obtain a perfect photo. It is possible to print at a lower resolution than 300 dpi, but be aware that if you go lower than 150 dpi, the quality of your image will be affected.
2.5 x 3.5 to 12 x 35 format on regular inkjet photo paper: 360 dpi
Size 11 x 14 to 43.75 x90 inches on Fine Art Inkjet Photo Paper: 300 dpi. All sizes are in inches (Imperial System). If we are unable to print your photos in the desired size or if we find that the quality is not good enough, we will contact you.
